Privacy Policy

What Offex Mail collects, how disposable inboxes behave, and the choices you have over your information.

Overview

Offex Mail (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the free temporary email service available at mytemp-mail.online and its inbox app at mytemp-mail.online (together, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Service handles, how disposable inboxes behave, and the choices available to you. It applies to every page on our domain. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

Who we are

Offex Mail is a free disposable email service. You do not need an account, a password or a payment method to use it. Because there is no sign-up, we hold very little information about you — but the small amount we do handle is described below.

Information we collect

Temporary inbox addresses

When you generate an inbox, we create a temporary address on our own domain, for example something@mytemp-mail.online. If you choose a custom name, that name is stored so the inbox can be reopened from your history. These addresses are not linked to your real identity and are not used to build a profile of you.

Messages you receive

Emails delivered to a temporary inbox — including verification links, one-time passwords (OTPs) and any other mail sent to that address — are stored on our servers only long enough to display them to you. They are not intended for long-term storage, and we do not read them to sell or share their contents.

Technical and log data

Like most websites, our servers automatically record limited technical data when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, referring URLs and timestamps. This data is used for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and aggregate statistics about how the Service is used.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and your browser’s local storage to remember your theme choice (light or dark), your language preference, your sound on/off setting and the list of inboxes you created. Third-party partners described below may also set their own cookies.

How temporary inboxes work — and their limits

Every temporary inbox is public by address. Anyone who knows or guesses a temporary address can open that inbox and read the messages inside it while it is active. Inboxes are designed to expire automatically, generally around 60 minutes after creation, after which the address and its messages are removed.

Please do not use Offex Mail for confidential information. Because a disposable inbox is readable by anyone who knows its address, never use it for banking, medical, government, legal, employment or otherwise sensitive correspondence.

Third-party advertising and analytics

We may display advertising to keep the Service free. Advertising is typically served by Google AdSense and similar partners. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie to serve ads to users based on their visits to this and other sites. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at google.com/settings/ads, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ cookies at aboutads.info. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a consent notice is shown before non-essential cookies are set. We may also use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic; that data is used only to improve the Service.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data — for example under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). These can include the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your data, to object to processing, to data portability, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

Because temporary inboxes carry no account and expire quickly, in most cases there is no lasting personal data for us to act on. Where you wish to exercise a right, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable period.

Data retention

Temporary inbox addresses and their messages are deleted automatically when the inbox expires — generally within about 60 minutes — and short message history is retained only briefly so you can switch back to a recent inbox. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and then deleted or aggregated. Advertising and analytics cookies are retained according to the policies of those third parties.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the Service, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and because temporary inboxes are public by address, you should assume that anything you receive in one could be read by someone else. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it. Users between 13 and 18 should use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

International users

Offex Mail is operated from India, and our servers and service providers may be located in other countries. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be processed outside your country of residence, including in countries whose data protection laws may differ from your own.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
